How to make Eggless Chocolate Truffle Cake

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2

Mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. For even distribution, whisk or fork them. Also, mix plain yogurt, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Blend the mixture well. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients gradually. Finally, Keep the batter lump-free without overmixing.

Step 3

Pour the hot water slowly and gently fold it into the batter. The cake becomes moist and tender from the hot water. Smooth the batter in the greased cake pan with a spatula. To get rid of air bubbles, gently tap the pan on the counter. Bake the cake pan for about in a preheated oven.

Step 4

Between 30 and 35 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.

Step 5

Make the frosting while the cake cools. Melt dark chocolate over simmering water in a heatproof bowl. Stir occasionally until smooth. Cool it for a few minutes. Heavy cream should be whipped to soft peaks in a separate bowl. While whisking, slowly add the melted chocolate. Continue whisking until the frosting becomes thick and glossy.

Step 6

Place the cooled cake on a serving plate and generously spread the chocolate truffle frosting over the top and sides of the cake using a spatula or a cake decorating tool.

Step 7

Garnish the cake with chocolate curls, sprinkles, or fresh berries for a more elegant look. Finally, your cake is ready to serve.
